Close the fracking loopholes
Fracking uses huge quantities of water and chemicals are injected into the ground to extract oil or natural gas, creating billions of gallons of toxic wastewater each year. This can contaminate our drinking water and put our communities at risk.
Yet, despite the risks, fracking is exempt from key provisions of the Safe Drinking Water and Clean Water Acts. We need to close the loopholes that exempt fracking operations from our safe drinking water laws.
