Tell Governor Inslee: Ban Bee-Killing Pesticides
Beekeepers report they're losing an average of 30 percent of bee colonies each year. We rely on bees to pollinate most of our favorite foods. If we lose the bees, we'd lose everything from strawberries to coffee. We want a national ban on bee-killing chemicals, but with Scott Pruitt running the EPA, we know that won't happen. That's why WashPIRG is calling on Governor Inslee to ban the sale of pesticides that kill bees.
Dear Governor Inslee, Bees are dying at unprecedented rates, with real consequences for our food supply, environment and economy. We rely on bees to pollinate everything from almonds to strawberries to the alfalfa used to feed dairy cows. Simply put, no bees means no food. Given what's at stake, we must do more to stop the bee die-off and help them rebound. Please ban the sale of bee-killing pesticides in Washington and ensure that they are not used on any state property. Sincerely,
